A Review Of The AresConnect Utility

Filed Under (Ares) by lee on 02-07-2009

A year or so back we would never have needed a utility like AresConnect, but times have changed and – for whatever reason – the Ares network has become clogged enough to make connecting to it something of a lottery. AresConnect is a new utility on the market designed to make connecting to the Ares network easier than it has ever been.

The idea behind AresConnect is simply to bolt onto the existing Ares client, and allow that to connect more quickly and efficiently. The inner workings of the utility are nothing less than witchcraft, and to be honest I don’t think I’d understand even if I were told exactly what it did! We just download the utility, install it, and it knows what to do from there.

We tried AresConnect a number of different ways, and on a number of different Ares clients. It worked as advertised on all. In all cases – some more extreme than others – we were having problems connect before the installation but no problems afterwards. We have checked back each day of this week to ensure that it wasn’t just a fluke, and on each occasion we got a clean connection straight through to the network.

Conclusion: this is a great little tool for anyone who gets frustrated trying to connect to the Ares network. We predict that this will save a lot of broken keyboards!
